Singer Krista Cason comes from a new breed of
young talent, born and raised on the mean
streets of Philadelphia, she infuses an
undeniable melody, with a hip hop twist that she
calls "Philly swag" something she has a whole
lot of. A big voice in a little body, this 4
foot 11 inches 20 year old is already making a
name for her self in the Tri State area and
hopes that soon her name will be known
internationally.
Krista has been singing
since she could speak and writing songs since
the age of 11 years old. "I try not to follow
the path of others, but instead make my own path
for others to follow." Krista has given her
blood, sweat, and tears to her music and doesn't
plan on stopping anytime soon.
At the ripe age of 20,
Krista has already performed in numerous talent
competitions in Philadelphia, Delaware, New
Jersey, Washington DC, and many other places.
She also participated and won shows for Jane
Harley, talent coordinator for the Apollo
Theatre in New York, came in first place at the
Philly Apollo, and placed in the Omega Psi Phi
talent hunt 3 years in a row.
Krista does charity and
youth events also because she is still young and
feels that the growing epidemic of young teen
mothers and behind bars in unacceptable.
She has volunteered at a
young unwed mothers shelter for 4 years and
performed at prisons in her area around the
holiday times. Krista was selected to perform in
the community event during the O’Jay scholarship
weekend in Canton, Ohio. .
Krista has also been
blessed enough to grace the stage with the likes
of Lil Wayne, Peedi Crack, E Ness from Making
the Band, Freeway, Beanie Seigel, Gospel Artist
Dorinda Clark Cole of the Clark Sisters, Levert
II, and most recently she was the opening act
for R&B singer Mario.
Her new single "Crazy,"
which was released on TSOB Records/ Federal in
November 2009, not only shows her ability to get
down in the studio, it also shows her love for
songwriting.
